Soma is a famous brand name for the drug carisoprodol. It is generally used to treat painful musculoskeletal conditions, acute pain from muscle strain and sprain. It doesn’t work on the muscles in a direct way but targets the central nervous system to ease pain. Soma contains a sedative compound that has a similar effect as that of benzodiazepine.
